Some people believe that dreams are how you forget things. The heartaches and sorrows of the past, the little bits of trivia that you've picked up along the way that you haven't managed to make useful. They effervesce out of your cerebral cortex like bubbles in a carbonated drink... dreams are the mental equivalent of a burp.

So I'm wondering if these random memories that seem to pop out of nowhere are just that--waking dreams--and if I don't write them down somewhere, they'll just disappear forever.
