This is probably among the lamest of Christmas Days I've ever
had, because, of all things, I am going to Las Vegas, which is
apparently my parents' most favorite place in the world, the place
I was conceived, and I don't know why they have to take their
children on their Silver Wedding Anniversary. Now, with regards to
Christmas season as a whole, it wasn't bad. We did the family stuff
yesterday. The two really bad Christmases I've had, I refer to as
The N64 rental Christmas and The Med School Secondary App Rejection
Fest Christmas (which really didn't turn out too bad)
Well, my dad is anxious to get on the road, as he is a
consummate gambler. (One of his mottos, stolen from Chick Hearn,
the announcer of the Los Angeles Lakers, is "Better lucky than
good.") I quote my mother: "Kumakati ang puwet niya." (His ass is
itching [to go]) So this'll have to be a quickie after all, without
links, and without talking about midnight mass and people who
complain relentlessly to people who really can't do anything about
it, and other minutiae that seem very important at 1 am, but are
more likely a product of being slowly asphyxiated by incense. I'll
probably fix this entry up when I come back.
