Endless Madness

I'm not sure Zope will work out right now, so I've come back to using my own kludges, except this time I've stolen some designs from Open Source Web Design with the optimistic hope that I'll figure out something of my own sometime in the next decade.

I don't know what it is lately.... No, that's not true, there's a lot of reasons. There was the e-mail Nancy sent me (which I still haven't replied to) about her wanting to sing. And then there was this entry at today.maganda.org which I think is an excellent summary of why writers do what they do (or at least, why writers ought to do what they do). And then there was an L.A. Times article in the Calendar section about the Basco Brothers (read about them and their upcoming movie "Naked Brown Men") and the trials and tribulations of being an artist. (Also, Dante Basco was in "The Debut." Oh, and "Hook." Rufio! Rufio!) Oh yeah, the All-School Talent Show is coming up. And various conversation with various people have reminded me that there is a lot more to life than what I'm doing now, despite the continuously ticking clock....

All these things make me wonder (somewhat melodramatically) whether or not I can still call myself an artist, despite having seemingly exhausted my creative abilities, and despite not having produced anything of worth for a goodly amount of time now. Interestingly, it the same old question just coming from a different angle. Have I possibly killed my soul?
